Eagle Watching Going on NowThe strong currents below the dam in Prairie du Sac keep the river below the dam from freezing over the winter months, allowing American Bald Eagles to fish. The bluffs surrounding the area provide perfect shelter. The best time to look for eagles is in the early morning while they are fishing. Often times you can see them perched in trees along the river and just below the dam. There are scopes available for use at the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council's Overlook, but it is always best to bring your own binoculars. Also be sure to dress warmly. Click here for details on Eagle Watching in Prairie du Sac Friends of the Treasure UpdateAnother couple has been added to the Friends of the Treasure this month. Steve & Natalie L from Illinois reached their tenth night at the Inn this month. Steve and Natalie received ‘Friends of the Treasure Card’ which includes one free night. How the program works; you receive one free night for each ten nights stayed at the Inn. Your picture is taken and added to the Friends of the Treasure pictures at the Inn. There are great gifts presented for achieving nights stayed at the levels of 20, 50 and 75 nights. Fun Places to VisitOur feature place this month is the town of Roxbury. This little town of 1700 population is just 11 miles from the Inn. Many or our guests enjoy venturing to this town of primarily German ancestry. Seventy-four percent of residents of Roxbury come from German ancestors. The next major group is Irish of 10%. Roxbury has two very unique, long time restaurants. Dorf Haus is a very popular restaurant with our guests. Dorf Haus features German and American cuisine. Dorf Haus also has a Dinner Theater with plays throughout the year. For more information on Dorf Haus, click here. The other unique restaurant is Roxbury Tavern. This restaurant/bar is in a historic building and is entirely non-smoking. Roxbury Tavern is known for its variety and quality menu. You will find Taco Tuesdays, Spaghetti Wednesdays and Cajun Thursdays. It is truly a favorite of the locals. You will also find a fine selection of Wisconsin ales on tap. The Inn limousine is available to either of these restaurants for $25 round trip. Newsletter CouponNew this month is our Newsletter Coupon. As a reward for subscribing to the Inn Newsletter, we have a coupon for your next stay at the Inn. This coupon is worth a $10 discount off any stay during the months of January – April. This coupon can be combined with any other special or package through April.
